So-So Yarn makes a beautiful sweater

Bulky Brown Yarn

I bought this in Santa Fe at The Santa Fe School of Weaving and got to speak with the shop owner, Miriam.  I can't imagine meeting a nicer Local Yarn Shop owner.  I went into two other shops while we were in Santa Fe and was not at all impressed.  Her shop is quaint but packed to the hilt with yarn.  I happened to be there during a trunk show and of course bought way too much yarn.

I don't even remember who makes this now because I lost the label but it is a Super Bulky weight and about 160 yards.  My original plan was the make a felted scarf out of it and I began knitting while still in Santa Fe to make a loose-knit scarf on big needles that I would eventually felt.  Because of the color, the felting idea (also known as "fulling") and a few stories involving poo on our trip this was going to be my Full of Sh*t Scarf.  I changed my mind and back into the stash it went.

Fast forward a few months and I found this little beauty, Bitty Bump on Ravelry.  Perfect!  I loved the pattern at first sight and then remembered I had this whole skein of super bulky brown yarn in my stash already.  100% wool that's meant for felting is probably not the best choice but it made for a beautiful sweater.

Funny how my AG hair brush is in this picture yet I CAN'T FIND IT ANYWHERE! Oh well, back to the knitting.

I hope to post some action shots soon.  The problem is little Bitsy moves too fast for me to get decent ones when she has it on :)

New Ideas Spinning in My Head

So I should be working on my consulting things but visions of another custom doll are dancing in my head.  I'm not so in love with my American Girl Kit anymore so she will be transforming to something else.  Her hair is a bit of a mess anyway. No hint pictures because I'll give it away (I'm not very good at hints).  I'm hoping to have her finished soon, I am going to order the wig today.  She will be VERY colorful but that's all I'll say.  Here is the before:

She's wearing one of my favorite dresses that I order off of eBay from a very nice lady in Kentucky who makes good quality dresses in fun prints and they are cheap. You can visit her store, Wendy's Oh Sew Cute Doll Clothes by clicking the link.  In fact, my new custom is going to be named Wendy when she is all finished inspired by this store.  I believe her doll-model is named Wendy.

Alice Cullen goes Doll

I've been working on this for awhile and she is finally all put together.  This is the first customized doll I have done but I would love to make more.  I do have plans to make a Bella doll too but she is on the back burner for awhile.  I am proud to admit that I am an adult American Girl doll lover.  I am surprisingly not the hugest fan of Twilight although I am a fan.  If American Girl made boy dolls I would have done a Harry Potter doll first!  Anyway, here she is, I hope you like!
